Vasari Lime Paint

Lime Paint is a mineral paint made with natural lime and marble dust. It's environmentally friendly, healthy, and its qualities will improve with time. Lime paint lends depth and luminosity to flat walls, creating subtle nuances, textures and movements otherwise unfound in regular paints.

  • Lime Paint is made with lime and powdered marble. Colors and creative styles are unlimited.
  • Lime Paint is used on large and small scale areas replacing conventional latex or acrylic paint.

1) Tools Preparation

The basic tools to have are masking tape, hawk, trowel, scraper, Spatula, Corner tool, Cloth. Make sure your trowel is straight and its edges are polished.

 

2) Wall Preparation

Make sure the wall is clean, free of dust, cracks, flaking, blistering or holes. Tape the sides of the wall with masking tape to make sure edges are clean and straight. The wall must be dry before applying Vasari.

 

3) Mineral Primer

Apply Vasari Mineral Primer using roller in one coat. Allow mineral primer to dry. 

 

4) First Coat

Vasari Lime Paint can be applied using brush or sponge. Apply lime paint in circular and random fashion to completely cover the primer. Allow first coat to completely dry. 

 

4) Second Layer

In second layer, use brush or sponge to apply lime paint in circular and random fashion to cover the first layer. Proceed with buffing before it is completely dry. 

 

5) Buffing

When the second layer is 60% dry, use clean sponge or brush to buff the wall to take out the sponge or brush marks. Buffing will also bring out the variation of color and create a smoother finish. 

 

Lime Paint can be sealed with wax or mineral sealer for added protection against dirt and stains.
